It was developed at the Research Institute for Pharmacy and Biochemistry (VÚFB) and its effects were verified as early as the late 80s. let.

As described by the now-deceased director of research at VÚFB: "Alaptide is a derivative of the inhibitor of the release of the melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MIF) - specifically L-prolyl-L-leucylglycinamide.
