Zinzino HbA1c Test

The test is divided into two main parts.

First, a self-test is conducted at home and analyzed in a laboratory to perform a personal measurement, which analyzes the long-term blood sugar level (HbA1c) found in capillary blood taken from a finger. This is done using the dried blood spot (DBS) technique. Only a few drops of blood placed on Whatman filter paper are needed, and the procedure takes less than a minute.

This measurement provides essential information about the current ability of the body to regulate blood sugar, because knowing your current level will enable you to make positive choices and take positive actions. To know what measures to take, the second part of the test is a lifestyle assessment. We combine the results of your test with an assessment of your lifestyle and score how your current lifestyle supports the following areas that you will monitor over time:

– overall health status
– HbA1c test analysis
– risk of developing type 2 diabetes (derived from validated risk assessment questions)
– metabolism
– immune function
– brain function
– gut function
– bones and joints

What we measure
The hemoglobin A1c test, which we use to measure long-term blood sugar levels, measures the amount of hemoglobin A1c proteins to which glucose is attached.
